The welcoming reception for the attendees is at the Frank Gehry-designed MIT Stata Center, on the fourth floor in the R & D Common Area. An architectural tour of this unique building will be available, which houses the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

Fawah Akwo in Cameroon

MIT sophomore Fawah Akwo helps high-school juniors in Limbe, Cameroon, access online assistance for college applicants, as part of the iCampus OpenAfrica project (2006).

XTutor at Xi'an Jiaotung

MIT students Angus Hucknall and Chang She conduct computer science instruction with the aid of the iCampus xTutor system at Xi'an Jiaotung University in Xi'an, China, in an internship co-sponsored by iCampus and MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (2005).

iLabs in Nigeria

Professor of Electrical Engineering Jesús del Alamo demonstrates the remote access to MIT laboratory equipment (iCampus iLabs) to staff and students at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Nigeria (2004).

MIT flagpole with strain gauge

Under the direction of Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering Kevin Amaratunga, the MIT flagpole in Killian court is instrumented with a strain gauge so that it can be monitored over the Web from anywhere in the world, by means of the iCampus iLabs architecture (2001).

International Design Compitition

The 2002 IDC was held at M.I.T. in Boston, Massachusetts. Students from around the world designed and built robots to compete at the final competition at MIT.
